The behavior of Brahee date palm fruits during cold storage at 4°c and ambient condition in response to calcium and sodium alginate edible coating at 1, 3and 5% was studied during 2016 and 2017 seasons. The obtained results showed the pronounced effect of calcium and sodium alginate at 3% on maintaining different physicochemical parameters which were determined during this study compared with other concentrations of them or control. But the preference was for the fruits coated with calcium alginate at 3%; hence it maintained the characteristics of Barhee date fruits tell the end of the storage period during 2016 and 2017 seasons.
