Giza 1 was highly susceptible while Giza 531 was less susceptible 10 the fungallnlection. Giza 88 and Giza 19~ were moderately susceptible . Studying the role of environmenlal faclors on Giza 1 chickpea White stem rot showed thai disease incidence was law during early phase. but it was higher in pod bearing stage . ToYi ridges planting of lhe row cleared tha' percentage of Infected plants was higher in the northern ridge than in the soumern ones . Also. disease Incidence was higher in hills planted with live seeds than that planted with two seeds.
