Abstract
A pot experiment was executed during 2000 and 2001 consecutive seasons
to explore ttie respom.e of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramal ev. Super Yellow planls
grown in 4 different growing media (sand, sand + colton seed hulls (C.S.H.). sand +
hyacinth composl (HCN), or loamy soil), to 4 ammonium sulphate fertilization rates (0.
4, 8 or 16 gJ25 cm poi). Obtained results indicated that growing Chrysanthemum plants in sandy soil amended wittl colton seed hulls (CSH) or hyacioth plants compost (HCN), as welt as. loamy soU caused considerable increase In vegetative growth characters, flowering parameter$, photosynthetic pigments and herb % of N, P an K, in comparison with those obtained by sandy soll-grown plants. The results of sand + CSH or sand + HCN were, nearly, equal to those of loamy soil. However, loamy soli delayed flowering date in comparison with thai or sandy soil. In relation to ammonium SUlphate, the gradual increase in its rate caused gradual improve in all vegetative growth, flowering production and chemical composition, but the hIgh rate of ammonium sulphate delayed
flowering date of Chrysanthemum plants.
