Abstract
This study was carried out to elucidate the response of strawberry cv.
Chandler 102 levels of P·Fertilizer (31 and S2Kg P20:YFed.) and 3 levels f K fertilizer
(240 Kg 1<20/Fed. as soil application (SA), 120 Kg K20 as soil application (SA) + 120
Kg K20 as loliar spray (FS), and 240 Kg 1<20 (SA) + 120 K20 (FS)/Fe . as well as
Iheir combinations.
Obtained results show that P·appUcation had favorable i"flue~s on plan,
growth and early and total yieldlFed. P.supply at 31Kg P20sfFed increased fruit
welghl, whereas p. supply al62Kg P205iFed increased fruit firmness and lolal soluble
solids. it also increased K% but did not on N% in fruit.
Results also show thai applying K·fertilizer at 240 Kg 1<20 (SAr. or 120 Kg
K20(SA) + 120Kg K20 (FS)/Fed. gave the highest early and total yield/Fed. K supply
at 240 Kg K20 (SA)/Fed increased frull firmness in March haNssting whereas K
app6catfon at 120 Kg 1<20 (SA) + 120Kg KlO (FS)/Fed. gave the hig[est values
conceming fruit T.S.S% and total acid~y (TA)%. K-1ectilization at the fate .ro Kg KzO
(SA)/Fed gave the highest levels of N,P and K contents of fruit <XJmpnring ilh other K
levels used.
Obtained data indicated thal application of 62 Kg P20S +240 Kg ~O as soil
application /Fed. gave the highesl early and tolal yield with fruiw of high firmness
which Increase the fruit ability to shipping and marlceting. Such result COuld be
recommended.
