Abstract
Eight faba bean genotypes (Wore faba, L.) re. Sakha 1, Sakha 2, Nubaria l, Giza 461, Giza 716, Giza 714‘ Giza Planka and Giza 3 were evaluated at the Tag El.- Ezz Research Station. Dalthlia Governorate during 2002/2003 and 2003I'2004 winter growing seasons. using two sowing dates The mean performance. phenotypic stability and interrelationship between various characters were computed usmg Eberhan and Russel (1966} formulae The studied characters were, plant height, number of branchesfplant number of podslplant, number of seedsrpod, lOO-seed weight and seed yieldiplant. Results indicated that significant genotype X environments and the variance due to genotypes X cultivars (linear) for plant height, number of seedslpod. too-seed weight and seed yieldlplant. Significant genotype X environments interactions and the variance due to genotypes and environments were significant for all characters. Tne correlation coefficient between mean performance and coefficient of variance (C.V.l were in5ignificant for all studied characters. The cuitivars Giza 3 and Sakha ’i appeared to be performed well under fluctuating environment pond-lions for seed yieldrplant Positive and significant correlation cset’liment were recorded between seed yield/plant and all studied character's, except slant height and between number of seedslplant with both of number of branches and podsfplant. These results coupled with stability parameter “b" are of great importance of bread h:gh yielding of faba bean and more stable varieties
